Announcing Tux Paint version 0.9.35

Text Tool Improvements and New Magic Tools

(May 26, 2025; updated May 31, 2025) The Tux Paint Development Team is pleased to announce Tux Paint version 0.9.35.

Text Pasting and User Font Support

It's now possible to paste text from the clipboard into Tux Paint's Text and Label tools. Long spans of text will be word-wrapped automatically. Also, Tux Paint now loads user-installed fonts from more locations, providing the potential for a much greater variety of typefaces within the program.

Hearts, Sparkles, & Stars

Three new Magic tools provide a fun way to add trails of hearts, sparkles, and stars to a drawing.

Other Improvements

  • Improved controls for the Hue/Saturation/Value color chooser
  • Documentation translated to Swedish

Tux Paint is available for download, free of charge, from the project's website: https://tuxpaint.org/. Tux Paint is released under an open-source license. It does not utilize networking, and hence does not contain in-app advertising or in-app purchases, nor does it do any kind of user tracking.

Version 0.9.35 is currently available for Microsoft Windows, Apple macOS, Android, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, various Linux distributions (via Snapcraft), Haiku, OpenBSD, and as source code.
